Flavor capsule cigarettes are a new tobacco product that contain a gelatin capsule filled with a flavoring liquid that is embedded into the cigarette filter, which is released when crushed by the consumer, thereby flavoring the mainstream smoke when the cigarette is inhaled. Recently filters contained two or more capsules that deliver different flavors depending upon the consumer choice. The most common capsule flavor is menthol; however, a plethora of other flavors are available.
